(Assassin) Gleaming Moon Shirayuki

Lore

As the moon's gleam intensifies, the stirring composition reaches its climatic finish. In its last moments, the perfected musical narrative causes Shirayuki to recall a certain sorrow. "Too short to be my symphony..." Still, before the melody can abate, the ninja warrior unsheaths her blade, eliminating her target. Exactly as she has ordained, the last beat of his heart is in time with the koto's final note. The curtains close on the short, yet beautiful, piece.

Name origin

In Japanese language, shiro (or shira) means "white", while yuki means "snow". Altogether Shirayuki translates as "snow white".

The koto is a traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument. Koto are about 180 centimetres (71 in) length, and made from wood. They have 13 strings that are strung over 13 movable bridges along the width of the instrument.
