Countless golden apples were stolen and carried off to the surface. Idunn descended from the Heavens, her heart wracked with guilt. Huge "Idunn trees" began springing up all over the world, and the gods decided that they must all be eradicated. Idunn felt as if her heart was being shred into a million peices. And yet she took it upon herslef to carry out the destruction of her progeny. For as their progenitor, she felt responsible for their fate.
