(Acceded) Leader of Masses Marianne

Lore[]

The loss of a loved one was the spark that ignited the fire within Marianne. Feeling remorse over the young life she was unable to save, she took a stand to prevent any further losses. And she was supported by the voice of thousands. The red of the banner she carried represented the hopes of the living and the blue symbolized the wishes of the dead. She felt neither anger nor hatred, only the determination to bring about equality for all. Bearing the lofty ideals of the people, she continued until her revolution brought about the reconstruction of her land.

Name origin[]

Marianne is a feminine name of French origin. A blend of Marie (Latin mare "sea") "star of the sea; bitterness; rebelliousness; wished-for child" and Anne (Hebrew) "favor or grace".

To the French, the name symbolizes their spirit for "liberty, equality and fraternity". Marianne is a national emblem of the French Republic, an allegory of liberty and reason, and a portrayal of the Goddess of Liberty.
